Its Been a Slow Week for Me

Its been a slow week for me. I spent Sunday bunking church to hike Table Mountain with a few girls from the yellow house. A few minutes in to the ascent we all begin to breathe heavy, and take a breather. This hike is supposed to be an average 3 hour hike, I felt like there was no way we would last.  Breaks, water and music keep us going as the hike turns in to stairs, or giant rocks that are worse than stairs. Two and a half hours and we made it! An amazingly beautiful view from the top, we are higher than the clouds and watch as a plane flies next to us. It was well worth it, little did we know going down would be worse. My shoes had no traction with their foam like soles, not too far in and at lease 10 falls, I take my shoes off. I spent about half the hike down barefoot, and on top of that, my knees were killing me from the impact of each "step" down. Proud to say I accomplished it, but if I ever do it again, I'm taking the dang tram down.
The next day I was sore, but went on my work day laughing about my slow pace. Tuesday I woke up, attempted to stand and fell on the floor, my calves felt like rocks. I slid myself into the hallway and told Shelby there was no way I could make it today. He laughed, understandably so, I looked pathetic. I went back into my room and had someone bring me frozen veggies to put on my legs, and spent the whole day there. At dinner I got myself up and stumbling around for one of the girls birthday parties at the yellow house. Some friends of mine that I had made across the street in the flats joined us, under the condition that the young boy (who loves to sing and is amazing), would sing K a song for her birthday. He sang to her a beautiful song about the Lord, and then ate until the food was gone.
It was quite a lovely night, followed by another stiff morning, and what I thought were allergies turned out to be a gnarly cold. i spent our prayer meeting standing by the bathroom with a horrible cough, and a runny nose that began to bleed. I assisted in a few meetings, but motley felt like i was getting people sick by being there.... this was why my week was slow.
Friday was Women's Day, I went to a celebration in OV for tea, and then picked up about 8 girls (two separate trips) and took them for a day at the beach. Always nice dancing and singing and pretending like (and sometimes do) understand their afrikaans. Sunday came along and I spent it reflecting on the 4 years that had passed. Then picked of one of my girls "biscuit" and we went to Masipumelele for a night of worship at the Jesus House. It was amazing and the guys had such BEAUTIFUL amazing voices that could comfort any soul. All in all a good "slow/sick/injured" week.
